God made you and he knows how to fix you
I recently attended the second class in the Christian Life and Witness Course series. The pastor taking the class told us a story about a fellow who lived in a small town in the USA at the beginning of the 20th Century, we’ll call him George. He was the first person from that town to get a car, a Model A Ford. George drove it around the town very proudly showing off this amazing contraption and looked down his nose at everyone else who was walking around the town.
Then one day he was driving along when his car let out a splutter and ground to a halt, it wouldn’t move at all. He opened up the bonnet and stared in at the complicated looking engine and shook his head. He’d never seen anything like it and he didn’t even know where to start! Of course the residents of the town began to peer out their windows smiling to themselves about George’s car. Suddenly, another car came roaring into town and pulled up alongside the George’s stationery car. A well dressed man got out of the car and said “Can I help you Sir?” George said to him, “I can’t imagine that you possibly could, the engine is so full of intricate moving parts I haven’t got a clue how it works”. “Well, I’ll have a look for you” the man said.
The well dressed man reached into the bonnet, adjusted a couple of valves and would you believe it, the engine growled into life again. “How on earth did you know how to do that”, George asked. The man turned to George and said “I’m Henry Ford, I invented this car!”
The question I asked myself was, ”How many times do I puzzle over how to fix my own problems or my friends problems when all I need to do is turn to my Creator and ask Him”. God made you and he knows how to fix you.
